About Me
Bradley Solomon grew up in San Francisco and attended San Francisco University High School. He matriculated to Wesleyan University in Connecticut and graduated with a B.A. in Western European Comparative Politics. He then went to law school at Emory University and received his Juris Doctorate. Most of his career as a lawyer was spent as a litigator with the California Attorney General’s Office. He also serves on the adjunct faculty at Emory University School of Law and teaches trial techniques. He recently completed the UCLA College Counseling Certificate Program and graduated with distinction. That program included an internship in the college counseling department at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High School in San Francisco. He followed that internship by interning with private counselors at College Admission Coach.
Bradley lives in San Francisco with his wife, Helen, a physician. They raised two boys. Bradley is a huge sports fan and loves to travel. In his spare time, he has coached girls’ high school basketball and volunteered on several political campaigns.
Why did Bradley become a college counselor?
In 2012, Bradley’s son enrolled as a freshman at San Francisco University High School (SFUHS). While SFUHS was blessed with a strong college counseling program, counselors did not start meeting with students and families until junior year. As Bradley walked out of his first meeting with his son’s college counselor, he quickly realized that decisions had been made throughout the first two years of high school that would affect his son’s college prospects. Bradley kept saying to himself: “If we had only known some of this information earlier on in his high school years. And, oh, how great it would have been to have a counselor available from freshman year on to offer advice on the college process.” Thankfully, Bradley’s eldest son was a strong student and was fortunate to matriculate to a great university. Still, there were things learned that first time around that he wished he had heard from a college counselor.
Throughout Bradley’s years at SFUHS, he was both invested and interested in the college process. Families heard that Bradley had become somewhat knowledgeable and started coming to him for advice. Parents started suggesting that Bradley had found a new calling. After spending his career as a trial attorney with the California Attorney General, he decided it was time to follow his heart and start helping other families with the college admissions process. But, before he started, he wanted to make sure he was qualified for the job. In 2021, Bradley enrolled in UCLA’s College Counseling Certificate Program, the “gold standard” in training for college counseling. Two years later, he was honored to graduate with distinction from UCLA’s Program. This experience included Bradley’s internship in the college counseling department at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High School in San Francisco. Bradley followed that up by interning with private counselors at College Admission Coach. And now, Bradley’s ready to invest in your family the same way he has in his own.
